Million dollar wedding

I’ve always wondered what a million dollar wedding would be like. In fact, make that millionsss of dollars. Haha! I was in HK for a short trip at the end of October to celebrate Coco’s wedding to Bruce. Coco is a fantastic performer and an awesome person! It was a great experience to be at the wedding! My date at the wedding was my darling Shifu Rick! He’s Coco’s longtime buddy and he was soooo excited for her!

Personalised chocolates win big!

I loved the attention paid to every detail! We had luggage tags b4 our trip to aid logistics at the airport where we were picked up by a buggy right outside the plane and sent to immigration while a steward collected our luggage for us. We were quickly whisked to a waiting limo and taken to our hotel – the swanky Ritz Carlton! There’s nothing quite like the Ritz. Brand new with a lobby on the 103rd floor, the staff and crew of the hotel were impeccable. We really couldn’t ask for more. 2 thumbs up! I’m definitely gonna steal some tips for my own wedding w/o the million dollar budget of course!

The hotel

Chilling at the VIP lounge

Hello, we're on the 116th floor

At the highest club in HK - OZONE

We had so much fun throughout the 2 days of celebrations. Endless performances by Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, Neyo and Black Eyed Peas kept us entertained and dancing through the night in our stilettos. Luminous did a great job with the event planning and management. Hair & makeup services were arranged for all the ladies and the hospitality team was on call 24hrs to attend to our every need. Great tips learnt for an overseas wedding. I will keep all these in mind. Haha!

Coco welcomes us in every room - on the cover of Prestige!

All done!

Beautiful sunset solemnisation on top of the world

Waiting for the ceremony to start

Surprise No 1: Bruno Mar sings the walk in song!!!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Rockowitz!

Onto to the ballroom for the rest of the evening! One of the most beautifully decorated ballroom I’ve ever seen in my life, there were crystals and bling bling everywhere – the DJ booth, the stage, the table settings and the chandelier of course!

The wonderful table setting

DJ booth!

I loved how we had a variety of food for each course! I was especially happy for the dessert course cuz I had 6 desserts to sample! Delicious!

Antipasti

Primi

Secondi

Dolci!

The mini wedding cake! I love!!

And the performers were…

The one & only Alicia Keys!!!

Empire State of Mind!

The couple share their first dance as husband & wife!

Happy family on stage with Alicia Keys!

The night ended with the ultra-slick and very cool…

NEYO!!

Some of the guests were like ‘That must be Usher or will.i.am!’ I was like ‘huh?!?!? that’s for sure Ne-yo!!!’ Hahaha! We had so much fun singing and dancing along and nobody wanted the night to end! Alas, we retreated for the night to prepare for the party at the famed Shaw Studios the night after! That’ll be in the next post. :)

All dressed up and ready to eat!

September Mania!

I have been MIA for ages! Work, travel and the boy has kept me away from spending some leisurely time to update this space. Haha!

A lovely hand bouquet of lilies from the boy to Luci to welcome her!

September was a wonderful month as every September every year usually is! Besides turning a year older in the company of family and friends, September was great for work too! :) I had, hands down, the best birthday cake ever! The boy specially planned it as a surprise for me and worked with a lovely baker to create the perfect cake! I was so touched when I saw it! PERFECTION! It didn’t just look good, it tasted fabulous too!

My giant macaroon birthday cake for the family!

Could not bear to cut my beloved cake! :(

Soooo sweet!

My Lucia stayed for 2 weeks and we went to Shanghai for a short vacation where we lived with Gen and had a blast just shopping and dining. It was great to see Gen again and Shanghai’s really dynamic, bustling and full of activity. It was like non-stop action for us. Unfortunately, we fell ill on the last day and the flight back was very sombre, by our standards!

6 blisters on Lucia's feet!Happy birthday to me!

Lucia will be visiting us in Paris so I can’t wait to catch up with her again and continue our little adventure around the world! We have now been to Shenzhen, HK, Singapore, Bangkok, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Slovakia and Shanghai together! That’s a record!

Welcome to the 'Hai!

My golden bounty birthday present from Lucia! Handmade in pure gold! :) All the way from Prague!

Waiting to board

Thank you Sweetheart!

Isn't she gorgeous? Love love this girl!

37 days to Paris! Tick tock tick tock!

Paris in Winter!

I’m counting down the months and days to December! Why? Cuz we’re going to P-A-R-I-S!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

My list of things to-do is ever increasing including Gossip Girl hotspots, touristy destinations and most importantly, shopping venues! Of course I’ll get another Chanel, a Repetto, more Lanvin, another Miu Miu, another Balenciaga and a nice black Prada! That means from now till then, I’ve to work extra hard to shop and make sure our Paris trip is a blast. Hoping to spend at least 8 days there! I need a nice red trenchcoat too. Can’t wait to have the best macaroons in the world! YUMMY!

The Eiffel Tower

Laduree!

xoxo

On to other good news: my Lucia is visiting in September for my birthday and we’re taking a short trip to Shanghai! She’ll be here from 6-20 Sept and I just can’t wait! Miss her so much and my Europe vacation last yr with her was the best thing I ever did! It woke me up in so many ways… I can still hear Alicia Keys’ Unthinkable playing in the car as we drove to Trnava..

Trnava!

The boy has started work and it’s taking some getting used to for both of us. No more sending me to wk and picking me up for dinner when I’m done. Oh well, responsibilities are calling out. Fingers & toes crossed that he does well and fast tracks to success asap. ;) Can’t wait to decorate our apartment when the time comes!

The Scala! ;)

Back to work for now. Event’s tmr! Wish me luck!

My dream bag!

YAYYYYYYY! I bring good news!!!

I’m overjoyed! I returned from Milan with the bestest bag ever, or rather, my dream bag! Chanel 2.55 Medium Caviar with gold hardware!!!

The Magnificent Duomo

Retailing at SGD $5,170 here, I got it at 2450 euros! That’s before 14% tax refund, so do the math and you’ll know how much I saved. :) ))) So worth it! I’ve been saving forever to buy it.. I was very tempted to pick up the new Mademoiselle too! So much savings in Milan and Paris compared to Sg. But supernatural restrain and the return of my brain stopped me from emptying my pockets on another bag and to enjoy the presence of my beloved 2.55.

Somebody is officially the happiest girl now.

I will not buy a bag.. until the end of the year! Except I couldn’t resist and bought a Miu Miu clutch on my last day in the city! Haha!

J'adore!

I’m one very happy but also very broke girl now.. I also bought Gucci chocolates, Fendi accessories and heaps of stuff from H&M! What can I say? I really like my money right where I can see it.. hanging in my closet! Thank you Carrie Bradshaw for that line that I will never forget. =p

Too excited to write now! xoxo.

my office

my office is my new shelter from the storm and my place of refuge.

i’m starting to really like it, even though the design and furnishings could be better. but hey, gotta start small and slowly grow bigger.

so far, my nearest and dearest have all spent many a day and night here hanging out.

daddy dearest has just generously moved an old humongous TV onto the upper floor so I can watch football with the office’s MIO subscription! :)

Thank you for everything!

My 2010!

My 2010 will be remembered for these things/moments/people:

1) iPhone / iPad

My obsession with Apple continues and after getting my iPhone in 2009, I milked it to full use in 2010, capturing snapshots of everything around me (including myself!), playing games all the time, tweeting and texting like there’s no tmr. I dunno what I’d do without my iPhone now.

My sister got me the iPad when it was launched in NYC! An early bday present, I enjoyed being one of the first in Singapore to premiere it. I still don’t use it as much cuz I’ve got 3 other laptops but I love this baby immensely! Muacks

2) Family

I love my family the most. I’m extremely lucky to have parents who love, care and respect me and a sister who supports everything I do and gives me all her love in the world. Now I’ve got a brother-in-law and hopefully, we’ll get closer next year. Yes, I still miss Jackie every single day and no, the pain never seems to fade away but I trust and have to believe that he’s off to a better place. I loved reconnecting with family members this year too. Glad to get closer to Abbey! So happy to meet Steph & Shawn and darling Skylar! Looking forward to Cherryl’s wedding next year and seeing Jarrod again.

3) Friends

My friends are my much needed support network to stay sane, to laugh crazily and cry about my ill-fated romances. Thank you for being there for me for yet another year and I promise I’ll do better in my lovelife next year. No more drama k?

I love the new friends I made this year and enjoyed the company of Karen and Asheley, my sister’s BFFs. You girls are great!

4) Career

2010 has been excellent workwise! The Media Ministry has made significant progress and I’m happy to announce that we’ll be moving into a huge shophouse space from 1st Jan onwards! Yay! I wasn’t expecting much when I started the company but it has surpassed my wildest dreams and I’m gonna continue growing it next year and working harder than b4! Thank you everyone who made it possible. I owe you one!

5) Travels

I realised how much I missed travelling when I was in HK with the BFF. It’s been awhile since we took a girlie trip tog and I fully appreciated our quality time tog! Then, I left for Eastern Europe in July and things have never been the same. The sights, the sounds, the people, the places.. I finally knew how much I’ve been missing out and now I can’t wait to go back to Slovakia, Vienna, Prague and Budapest. (Egypt.. not my thing..) Taipei in Oct was amazing too! So much food and fun! Lastly, I’ve got Tokyo in 2 days! Whee! So from now on, every year I’ll have to explore a new country/city to broaden my horizons, pick up new languages and refresh my love for life.

6) Freedom

No boyfriend = no drama, no heartache and no restrictions.

I’ve enjoyed my freedom this year. Enough said.

7) Shoes

My never-ending shoes collection has continued to grow, at the risk of my father’s wrath! I’m so happy that I got my 2 Louboutins, my Chanel heels, my Marc Jacobs flats and wedge, my Alexander McQueen sandals, my 2 Ferragamo Varinas and Ferragamo heels, my Pierre Hardy and even my Dr Martens and so many other fantastic shoes to add to my closet. I can’t wait to have my own apartment and proudly display my victory medals. Hahaha.

8) Gym… NOT

Non-existent all year. I miss Muay Thai, I miss working out and I even miss dancing. I’ve to try harder in 2011. At least twice a week! I need some discipline and motivation!

9) Nails

The girls at Vedure have been fantastic! They’ve successfully converted me into a nails addict, letting me try out different treatments, colours and styles for the nails. I’ve had gorgeous nails all year thanks to them and I’ve so many photos where I’m just showing off my nails! :)

10) Love.. in all the wrong places

Self-explainatory. :/
